Reflection:
We chose to do a horror because we thought it would be the
easiest to show the audience what kind of genre it is. We decided to have two
girls coming back from a party to show that they were venerable, and this would
link into the genre by showing the audience that they are easy to get. By having
the girls talk about boys, show what age they are, which is teenagers. When
they walked through the door we only wanted a small amount of light to shine on
them so you could see what they were doing, but it also created an eerie effect
that worked well with the genre. We chose to have the children’s nursery rhyme “if
you go down into the woods” because it the music box was really creepy and
would add to the effect of the task being a horror. Also it created a sense of innocence
which juxtaposed what it was being used for.
WWW: We managed to film the all of the shots in 1 hour and
20 minutes which was helpful because it meant that we could spend more time on
editing the footage and finding out what else we needed to do, this meant that
we were organised so we knew what we were doing and how we were going to do it.
We covered all the points we had to include which were; character opening a door, crossing a room and sitting
down in a chair opposite another character, with whom she/he then exchanges a
couple of lines of dialogue, and should demonstrate match on action,
shot/reverse shot and the 180-degree rule. My partner and I felt that we
edited the match on action to the best of our abilities.
To
Improve: When the characters sit down on
the chairs you can’t see it very well because it’s so dark. To improve we would
want that to make it clearer because that is one of the points that we must have
had in this video, and it was disappointing that you couldn’t really see them
that well, so next time we would make it clearer to the audience that they are
sitting on chairs. Also I would want to improve the lighting that we used,
because the light we had was very dim which mean that you couldn’t see what the
characters were doing at some points. Next time I would have had a better light
so you could see the character a little better, but also I would have someone
else doing the lighting because there were only two people doing lighting,
sound and recording, and this was very hard to do at the same time.
